Brain Tip of the Month

Lower the Activation Energy

When task resistance feels overwhelming, make the goal smaller. Much smaller.

Give yourself just 60 seconds to begin. Not to finish. Not to make progress. Just to open the document, pick up the phone, or gather the things you need.

For many neurodivergent brains, getting started is often the hardest part. The aim isn't productivity, it's creating enough momentum for your brain to shift gears.

Remember: starting a task is a neurological process, not a measure of willpower or worth.

Main Stage Spotlight

Neuroplasticity at Heligan

This September, I had the privilege of  speaking on the main stage at the Heligan Wellbeing Festival. Speaking as an applied neuroscience practitioner, I explored the beautiful, hopeful reality of neuroplasticity—how our brains are not fixed, but constantly rewiring themselves in response to the experiences we create. Sharing this message in such a wonderful setting was one of the highlights of my September.

Book Recommendation: Explaining AuDHD

This month’s recommendation is Explaining AuDHD by Dr Khurram Sadiq. The book offers an accessible exploration of the overlap between ADHD and autism, helping readers better understand AuDHD experiences, strengths and challenges

One small step.

Neuroaffirmative growth isn't about changing everything overnight. It's about making small, compassionate adjustments that work with your brain, not against it.

Tiny shifts really do add up.

Be gentle with yourself this week.

Warmly, Nik Ramsay-Trease & The Rewired Brain Team
